Position Summary

The Caverns is seeking a creative, highly organized, and self-motivated Marketing Coordinator to help announce new events, drive ticket sales, grow our audience, and tell the story of one of the most unique music venues in the world.

This role sits at the intersection of live events, content creation, social media, media relationships, and marketing strategy. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building a social media calendar, capturing content at a sold-out show, brainstorming new ticket-selling campaigns, generating leads with influencers, and diving into analytics to understand what is working.

We're looking for someone who constantly thinks about how to grow our audience, engage fans, and sell more tickets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Show Marketing & Ticket Sales

  • Coordinate marketing efforts for concerts, festivals, and all venue experiences.

  • Assist in developing and executing marketing plans for all event announcements and on-sale campaigns.

  • Along with the marketing director, collaborate with artists, agents, and managers to maximize promotional opportunities.

  • Identify creative ways to increase ticket sales and attendance.

  • Monitor sales trends and recommend marketing initiatives to improve performance.

  • Lead email marketing campaigns, audience segmentation, and promotional calendars.

  • Track and distribute promotional ticket giveaways.

  • Recruit and manage a street team responsible for distributing printed promotional materials (posters, flyers, etc.) and submitting photo documentation of placements to track outreach efforts.

2. Social Media Management

  • Own day-to-day management of all social media channels.

  • Create and schedule engaging content across platforms.

  • Grow audience size, engagement, and reach across channels.

  • Track and report social media performance and key growth metrics bi-annually, identifying growth opportunities.

  • Stay current on platform trends and emerging opportunities.

  • Manage community engagement and fan interactions.

3. Content Creation

  • Capture photo and video content at concerts, festivals, and all venue experiences.

  • Coordinate with photographers, videographers, and content creators when needed to supplement content capture/creation.

  • Create short-form video content optimized for social platforms.

  • Maintain an organized content library for future marketing use.

  • Identify opportunities to tell compelling stories about artists, fans, and the overall venue experience.

4. Marketing Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor marketing performance across social media and email.

  • Prepare regular reports highlighting growth, engagement, campaign performance, and recommendations.

  • Use data to guide future marketing decisions and strategies.

5. Creative Initiatives

  • Continuously generate new ideas to attract audiences and drive revenue.

  • Support special promotions, partnerships, contests, and experiential marketing efforts.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen The Caverns brand both locally and nationally.

  • Be an active contributor to ideas as well as execution.

Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, social media, communications, live events, entertainment, or a related field, 1-2 years.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.

  • Strong writing and communication skills.

  • Experience creating content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms.

  • Comfortable capturing and editing photo and video content.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Experience in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting tools.

  • Passion for live music, entertainment and tourism is required.

  • Must live within 30 miles of the venue.

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Ability to work both remotely and on-site in Grundy County, TN for events. The position is expected to maintain an active presence at concerts, festivals, etc. as needed to support content creation, storytelling, audience engagement, and promotional efforts. The successful candidate will work with the marketing director to prioritize which events require coverage based on marketing objectives, ticket sales opportunities, and current workload.

  • Attendance at weekly staff meetings required.
