What happens if severe weather occurs? +

Tennessee weather can be unpredictable. If there is severe weather predicted for your show please be prepared, here are some tips:

  • Download a weather app on your phone and make sure to have backup power for your device. Make sure your alerts are on for the location. The Caverns is located in Grundy County Tennessee and our nearest town is Pelham.

  • Camp on higher ground away from trees, our check in staff can direct you the preferred locations.

  • Stake down all of your tent and gear and bring a rain fly/tarp to keep dry.

  • Your car is safer than your tent or yurt - in the case of a weather event, your car can be used as a shelter.

  • The Big Mouth Cave, where the concert will be held, will be open if storms become a threat. If severe weather is in the area (i.e. high winds or a tornado) the cave can mouth be used as shelter. You are welcome to drive your car on the roads up to the cave from the campground or if you don’t have access to a car you can walk the footpath to the cave, but be aware it is a long walk through trees so give yourself plenty of time before a storm arrives to travel the footpath if that is your preferred path.

Camping and Yurt stays involve inherent risks. Please be advised that The Caverns is an Adventure Tourism professional and as such, is not liable under Tennessee law for the inherent risks of such activities pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, title 11, chapter 11, including the injury or death of a participant in such adventure tourism activity.
